✨STUDENT BUILDERS SHOUT-OUT!!! Thank you, YOAV, for allowing me to use your Minecraft build pictures in my class listing!✨

Do you enjoy a good ol' field trip?
Have you ever thought about what would make the most epic field trip experience for you?
Do you LOVE to build creatively in Minecraft?
Do you spend HOURS building one-of-a-kind insanely creative Minecraft builds?
Are you interested in taking on a new EPIC challenge by enrolling in one of my Minecraft Builders Challenge FLEX classes?
If you answered yes to these, then keep reading!

Join me in this 4-week class, and take on the role of a field trip "developer". Through the Outschool classroom, we will discuss epic field trips together and reminisce about our past field trip experiences. My videos, posts, and discussion inside the classroom will prepare the students for each week's build challenge. I will help get the inspiration flowing for these wild and adventurous build challenges with weekly discussion questions, field trip inspired polls, and offer optional research recommendations for each week's build challenge. Students will be given a general field trip theme each week, and then they will get busy turning their "construction" ideas into Minecraft reality. Students will be able to think about field trips in a new light as they build places they would enjoy visiting, based on each weekly theme. There will also be an "extra" challenge presented during each build, for those craving MORE weekly build time. If you're looking for a flexible schedule class that gives you more Minecraft building time while focusing on a goal, this is it!

This is a "flexible schedule" class. That means there will be NO LIVE MEETINGS for this class. Everything will take place inside the classroom forum. This class is great for students that can't enroll in my live ongoing Minecraft Builders Challenge Club, and are SUPER EAGER to take on creative build challenges! It's also perfect for those that just want MORE Minecraft creative time in their lives! For this particular class, all builds will revolve around locations you might wind up visiting during a field trip. Students will be able to let their imaginations explode onto the screen!

**IMPORTANT - This class does NOT use a server, students will be building independently on their own Minecraft platform. This class is for ages 9-13 yrs. I also have a class for ages 14-18 yrs.**

Because there will be NO LIVE MEETINGS, the following elements will help keep this FLEX class on track:
• Recorded videos, discussion, and feedback between the teacher and students. (Students will need to post comments in specific threads, and will have the option to record videos directly into the classroom forum.)
• Weekly Minecraft build challenges.
• Uploaded screenshot pictures for sharing, viewing, and commenting purposes. (Students will be guided on how to do this through posts and videos the teacher includes inside the classroom forum.)
• Enrichment activities - including field trip inspired polls, "WOULD YOU RATHER" questions, and extra research games.

WHAT'S THE CLASS ABOUT?
Students will be presented with weekly build challenges and get to building! Each student will build independently in their own world, and upload screenshot pictures of their completed builds to share with the class. Students will need to be familiar with Minecraft, and know how to navigate the platform they choose to build on.

Once enrolled builders will need to check the classroom forum welcome post. (The classroom forum can be accessed through the learner's schedule, on your Outschool homepage.) This post will include the class schedule, as well as a welcome video explaining how the class will work. Students will be encouraged to record a short video introducing themselves to the class, using the classroom recording feature. Each week's build will have its own thread for showcasing purposes. This is where students will upload their build pictures, post build information, and record videos for the week's challenge. My videos will explain how to navigate the Outschool classroom, upload these pictures, and record using the classroom features. There is a lot to navigate through while taking a FLEX class, and I want my students to walk away from my FLEX classes feeling confident in knowing their way around the Outschool classroom forum. Discussion during each week's build will be sparked through questions I ask during my videos and posts I add to the classroom, and I look forward to hearing from the students in these discussion threads.

This class is designed for students with Minecraft knowledge. There will be no lessons on how to use Minecraft. This class is all about designing builds that meet each week's challenge requirements. All Minecraft build skill levels are welcome! How each student interprets the challenge is up to them. Each build should spotlight the student's architectural style and Minecraft expertise. These build challenges are designed to let creativity run wild. The screenshot pictures uploaded will need to include each aspect of the build, with the goal being to let the class see the detail and hard work put into each build. This class relies on each and every architects interaction in the form of uploaded pictures and comments/recorded videos posted in each thread of the classroom forum. It is designed to help broaden each Minecraft architects skills through the challenges, as well as through the inspiration seen in each and every architects unique designs.

WHAT ARE THE FLEX CLASS BENEFITS? AND, WHY DO THEY START ON SUNDAYS?
I schedule these class start dates to begin on Sundays, and they run for 4 weeks. Students are able to work on/upload each week's build challenges at their leisure, due to the "flexible" schedule a FLEX class allows for. All challenges built for this class will be the student's own famous design. As students finish the build for the week, pictures can then start getting uploaded in the comments section of that week's specific thread. Students will also have the option to record a short video explaining their build to the class. (Recorded videos help give the class a more personalized tour of the builder's accomplishments for the week.) All pictures for that week's build will need to be uploaded before the next week's build information is posted. This will help give each student the opportunity to browse through the pictures and comment accordingly. I will encourage the class to be open-minded and, through my videos, I will discuss how to critique the builds in a positive way.

WHEN WILL CLASS INFORMATION BE POSTED?
Each Monday morning, Mountain Time, information for that week's build challenge will be posted in the classroom forum, as well as my FUN & GAMES thread. Would You Rather questions, field trip inspired polls, and extra weekly research games will get students thinking further about this theme. A Google Form link will be included, and the answers will need to be submitted weekly. I will include the answers I receive in my Friday "WEEK IN REVIEW" posts.

Each Wednesday morning, Mountain Time, I will add an "extra" challenge for the week's build. This "extra" challenge will be optional, but will give those architects craving a little more the opportunity to do so. These "extra" challenges will make the student dig deeper into their imaginations, and give them a chance at MORE build time!

Each Friday evening, Mountain Time, I will send out a "WEEK IN REVIEW" post highlighting the week's activities.

The videos I post in the classroom will not include any Minecraft building tutorials. The design will be up to each individual student to determine on their own. All Minecraft build skill levels are welcome!

I'm a mom, gameschooler, and learner FOR LIFE! Minecraft helps make this so much more fun!

Being a gameschooling family, Minecraft has been a part of our homeschool days since the purchase of our first copy...for the XBOX 360. Since then we've expanded the collection, and can be found playing on numerous platforms! It's taken on many roles through the years, in our home, and it's been really fun to come up with creative ways to add in another Minecraft project here and there. I love that it offers so many different ways to explore, and so many different ways to be creative. It really does let kids do what they want in a world all for them. Allowing their imagination to run wild, one block at a time!! I have enjoyed teaching my "Minecraft Builders Challenge Clubs" on Outschool and wanted to come up with a way to make it available to more students. With the ongoing club students come up with the ideas for each challenge, but with these FLEX classes I get to come up with them! I have really enjoyed that! Theme builds and book builds have to be 2 of my most favorite things to do in Minecraft. I'm a creative, peaceful mode girl!

I can't wait to see what each build challenge turns out like. I am really excited to see how each week will inspire every single architect that enrolls in this class. My intention for this class is to spark interest in themes students might not have thought of on their own. It will also give everyone a chance to see the different design choices that can be dreamed up on this versatile gaming platform. This class is designed for students with Minecraft knowledge. There will be no lessons on how to use Minecraft. This class is all about designing builds that meet each week's challenge requirements. How each student interprets the challenge is up to them.

Who doesn't enjoy a good ol' field trip!? I'm eager to find out from students what makes an epic field trip. Ever since I started homeschooling I've always been about the field trips, and being able to bring this build theme to the world of Minecraft is exciting.
