This class is a discovery class where the only academic requirement is a passion for learning and creating. Learners may use their own Lego bricks (listed on the Learner's Supply List section below) or choose to order them (look at Learner's Supply List section below) to enjoy and achieve the learning goal of this class. In this live course, each student will: - Participate in a class with other children his/her age group (6 - 8) discovering the science behind this popular toy. - Enjoy 30 minutes of personalized project-based instruction. - Learn to design, build, create a fidget spinner that will require a scientist's eye using building blocks specially selected for this class. - Collaborate with small groups (5 students maximum per session) with one adult certified live instructor. The 30 minutes class is incredibly interactive: 5-minute introduction and explanation of the physics concepts. 20-minute self-paced creation. 5-minute conversation of achievements.
Learning Goals
Students will have fun building and testing a fidget spinner model made out of Legos to understand basic physics concepts such as force, friction, inertia, momentum, and motion.
