Fever 1793: Novel Study with Modern Day Connections

In this 4 week course, students will read the novel 'Fever 1793' and identify the literary elements used to build the story. Students will also read news stories and articles to draw connections to the COVID pandemic.
Learners will read the novel 'Fever 1793' by Laurie Anderson and discuss the similarities and differences between today's pandemic and the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1793. I provide learners with a comprehension study guide so they can practice their ability to find textual evidence when answering questions.
