Learners will read the novel 'Fever 1793' by Laurie Anderson and discuss the similarities and differences between today's pandemic and the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1793. I provide learners with a comprehension study guide so they can practice their ability to find textual evidence when answering questions. The novel surrounds the real pandemic that occured in Philadelphia. There is talk of death and sickness but the story is a recommended for young adult readers.
