Happy fall to all! Learners will practice the planning and writing process for three writing genres, including opinion, narrative, and informative.

Is your young writer struggling with the writing process? This writing workshop provides the step-by-step process of planning and constructing a standard 3-5 paragraph essay. Using fun and familiar topics, each learner will leave with a teacher modeled essay along with their own writing piece created after class. Topics included favorite fall holidays, informative and interesting fall facts, and a narrative fall/holiday memory. Students will learn the basics of planning and constructing a...
Students will practice each step of the writing process with fun and exciting writing activities. After attending this writing workshop, the learner will be able to develop an engaging introduction, followed by paragraphs that include topic statements and text evidence. We will also discuss adding "sprinkle words" or adjectives to help learners paint a picture for their readers. Learners will also construct closing and concluding paragraphs that sum up their writing and completes their final essay.

Homework Offered
Students are encouraged to complete their own essays independently after the course as homework. After viewing the teacher's model of a writing prompt, students will then write their own essay using the same prompt.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Learners will participate in an optional interactive "Quizzizz " game along with other learners in the class for additional fall fun.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Our opinion essay will consist of a prompt that allows students to give their opinion on their favorite fall activity and or holiday. This can include holiday celebrations surrounding Halloween or Thanksgiving.
