Description
Class Experience
Students will learn several aspects of feminist theory, appropriate to the age range (10-14) and apply those theories to the popular Disney movies.
I have been an English professor for 10 years! I teach creative writing and composition. One aspect of composition is rhetorical analysis, including through various critical lenses such as feminist theory.
No homework, but students should have watched both Frozen movies, if possible.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The feminist theories of this class are based on intersectional feminism, which argues that gender/gender identity, sexual orientation, race, nationality, language, socioeconomic class, and physical ability are all factors in power and privilege.
