Description

Class Experience

By the end of the course, learners will have an understanding of a variety of issues related to gender inequality and will be inspired to fight for equity in their own lives. Students will have tools in their feminist tool-kit in a variety of subject areas including LGBTQ+ rights, environmentalism, film theory, and more.
I am a Ph.D. student in the field of Gender, Feminism, and Women's Studies with a passion for feminism and social justice.
Learners will be encouraged to participate on the weekly discussion posted after class with myself and their peers. I will provide discussion questions to help get the conversations rolling.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be having conversations around potentially sensitive subjects including gender inequality and racism. I am trained as a feminist scholar and will ensure that the class is a safe place for these conversations to take place with teenage learners.
Learners will sometimes be given a link to a YouTube video to supplement in class learning.
