In this 2 part class have fun felting your own Baby Mandrake! This is a fun class needle felting class best suited for students with felting experience. It is a dry felting process using a barbed needle and wool roving to create a felted Mandrake plant. Suggested age is 10 and up due to the sharp barbed needle, concentration and dexterity required. The dry felting process of needle felting is achieved by continuously poking and stabbing the pure wool roving which causes the fibers to interlock and felt. 1st class: We will start off making a Mandrake skeleton using the pipe cleaners. We will then use the wool and a needle to start creating his body and head and start on his legs and arms 2nd class: We will continue working on his legs and arms and finish off by adding his face and leafy parts on the top of his head *Please see Supply List below

Parental Guidance
Felting needles are sharp and students must be able to sit still and focus as they work. Finger protectors may be purchased
Supply List
Ruler Pipe cleaners (4 in black or brown color preferable so it doesn't show throw the arms and legs) Barbed needles (at least 2 in case of breakage) .5 oz packages of wool roving in brown, black and green Small foam block or felting mat I get my supplies at Hobby Lobby locally. Some Michaels have a few items. My favorite roving brand is Artiste (fiber is not too smooth and easier to felt) Another option is to order from Amazon, Ebay etc.
