Prior experience required: Feathered Friends: Ornithology for kids Level 1 In this thirty minute course, we will continue to build upon our knowledge of the Avian species. Students will be challenged to press their critical thinking skills and ask and answer questions to deepen their understanding. We will work as a group to research and record information about a variety of specific bird species. We will also sketch birds in our nature journal. In addition, we will make a bird feeder! Please have your student come prepared with a pine cone or toilet paper roll, peanut butter (or other nut butter), and a small bowl of bird seed. Students can also bring string if they have it. Guiding Questions: How can I construct a bird feeder? How can I describe the anatomy of a bird feeder? What do birds like to eat? Do all birds migrate? How do scientists keep track of birds?
