Class Experience

Come and join me as we make a memorable gift for your favorite guy, your dad!

In this class, we will be making a gift for dad or dad figures for Father's Day. We will be making a big collage out of the word "DAD" while adding personal touches, pasting images (which will be provided in pdf format), coloring, drawing, and writing messages. All dads will appreciate this gift and can display it proudly.

We'll make a nice gift for dad, talk about dads and all the wonderful things they do, and make a sweet gift for them.

Looking forward to creating this gift together.

Hello Outschool families!

My name is Nancy and I’m thrilled to be an Outschool teacher. I’ve always been passionate about teaching. I am also passionate about teaching Spanish because it is such a beautiful language. Learning a new language greatly benefits children as it boosts critical thinking, and listening skills, it also improves memory and concentration. Another passion of mine is art, art fuels my soul. I'm a firm believer that everyone is an artist but we all become discouraged along the way for various so I want the opportunity to encourage as many people as I can to continue on their journey of being their true artist selves.

In my classes, we listen to stories, make crafts, make art, have fun, laugh, and feel safe to share when learners are ready. I teach classes on storytime, Spanish social clubs, Art Club, craft classes, fairy classes with a Fairy Princess, and more classes to come soon. All my classes are filled with joy, laughter, learning, inclusivity, and respect.

Throughout my lifetime I’ve always leaned towards teaching: from my teenage years being a one-on-one tutor, to presently homeschooling my children. In between those years, I’ve volunteered at a music school, been a Girl Scout mother and volunteer, and taught at a homeschool co-op. I've also volunteered at various organizations where I had leadership roles like student Government President, I was also a volunteer as a teacher at Literacy Volunteers of T. I also worked in a middle school as an Outreach representative, interacting with both parents and students. I'm grateful for all the opportunities I've been given because I've learned a lot throughout the years and all of these hold a special place in my heart.

I am neurodivergent and because of it I see the world from a different perspective and my creativity is my super strength. It has also allowed me to be more cautious and understanding of the feelings and needs of other people. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and fun space for my students. I encourage my students to share and participate when they are ready to do so.

I believe that all children learn on their own time. While we provide a safe space for them to grow they will do wonderful things. I’m a firm believer that teaching the love of learning will allow learners to grow in whatever field they are passionate about. I’m here to guide my students in a fun and safe space where there are encouraged to be themselves.

I love reading, gardening, riding my bike, going on hikes, and having picnics during sunsets. I’m also quite funny (I’ve been told this often) and aside from being a homeschooled mother and Outschool teacher, I’m also trying to pursue my dreams of becoming a comedian, hopefully, more to come on that later. This is why my classes are always sprinkled with so many giggles.

I’m very much looking forward to meeting your learner or learners in one of my classes. Thank you for potentially giving me the opportunity to teach your child(ren) and allowing me the space to share our time together to learn, grow, and have fun.
