Description
Class Experience
Day 1: - Students will be able to read and perform rhythm patterns including quarter notes, quarter rests, and eighth notes. Days 2 & 3: - Students will be able to read and perform rhythm patterns including quarter notes, quarter rests, beamed eighth notes, single eighth notes, half notes, and half rests. - Students will be able to identify bar lines, double bar lines, measures, tempo, and dynamic markings (forte/piano). Days 4 & 5: - Students will be able to read and perform rhythm patterns including dotted half notes, sixteenth notes, whole notes, and whole rests. - Students will be able to name notes on the lines and spaces of the treble clef staff. Day 6, 7, & 8: - Students will be able to name notes on the lines and spaces of the treble clef staff including ledger lines and accidentals. - Students will be able to read and perform rhythm patterns including eighth rests, triplets, dotted quarter notes, and different combinations of eighth and sixteenth notes.
OPTIONAL: Bring something to use as "rhythm sticks" (drum sticks, wooden spoons, pencils, etc.)
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
