Tie-Dye is a huge trend that has made a come back, especially in the last year! This is a 4-week class, where each week we will talk about a specific tie-dying technique and learn how to render them using markers and colored pencils. In class, we will draw and render a look together but students are encouraged to design their own looks (or even try to actually tie-dye a t-shirt) for homework and present it in our next class. Topics: Week 1: Ombre Tie Dye Week 2: Spiral Tie Dye Week 3:...
Students will: - learn about the various tie-dying techniques and how to render them - learn where to use them in garments when it comes to designing - understand the relationship between garments and the body; how they interact - develop their own style of drawing & gain confidence through practice
Students are encouraged to design more looks using the rendering technique learned in class. They can also try to tie-dye an actual t-shirt or garment for homework.
Students will need: - a croquis (I will also provide one prior to class) - blank paper - ruler - scissors - pencil & eraser - colored pencils - markers Link below if you need to purchase a set: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081XF2YKB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Assessment is verbal.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental guidance is only needed if students decide to actually tie-dye a garment for homework.
