In this self-paced class, students will sketch a summer dress, using a cropped fashion croquis (fashion design figure). I will attach a croquis for you to use if you choose to not use your own. I will demonstrate start to finish how to draw guidelines, rough sketch, fabric folds, flow, as well as commonly used fashion sketch techniques. I will teach the basics of the dress first, then we will add our Clean Outline, coloring, shading, highlighting and prints/patterns.

Since many of my Fashion Design students are choosing to work digitally now, I will be working digitally, using Procreate, but students may work traditionally or digitally.

The class lessons are embedded in Nearpod. No account necessary.

Materials Suggested for Traditional Art:
Fashion Croquis of choice (I have attached the one I'm using for reference, but feel free to use your own!)
Paper (Translucent Marker paper works best with markers)
Pencil/Eraser
Fine tip black Marker (I like Copic or Micron, non-bleeding ink pens)
Colored Markers and colored pencils
White gel ink pen

If working Digitally:
Fashion Croquis of choice downloaded (I have attached the one I'm using for reference, but feel free to use your own!)
Art Program of Choice
Fully charged stylus
