In this introductory fashion course, the student will draw their own croqui and use a 3D element (fake flowers, real flowers, washi tape, food, tissue paper, or whatever is available) to create their own fashion illustration design.

Description

Class Experience

We will explore several examples, styles, and materials. We will discuss croqui choices based on the student's available materials and fashion idea. We will discuss different techniques for creating the dress or design (placement and what to glue first). The student will choose a croqui to draw on paper and glue their floral mixed media to create a dress or design. This is a beginner level course for students with an interest in fashion and/or figure drawing. If time allows, we can add color...

Students will learn the basics of fashion illustration and mixed media strategies to create a unique clothing design on paper. This is  a beginner level course.

Finish your design/color as needed.

- real or fake flowers
- several pieces of sketch/printer paper
- pencil and eraser
- 1 black marker or black pen
- colored pencils and/or brush tip markers 
- scissors
- liquid glue
- optional (ribbon, sequins, feathers, etc.)

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
