40 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing class, students will be given a 'Design Challenge' and they will draw/design an outfit(s) using our theme of the week. We will brainstorm colors, textiles, styles, and more together! **This is NOT a directed drawing fashion drawing class - students will use their own ideas to draw and design, and we will brainstorm and share ideas as a group. If your learner is new to fashion design, and would benefit from a directed drawing, I do have a Fashion 101 class that is a great start!** Students will work at their own speed, and can socialize with me and the other learners as we create. We will go over ideas as a group, and see if we can add in those ideas in our designs throughout the class. If anyone needs help drawing a specific item or idea they have I will absolutely help! Toward the end of class, everyone will have the opportunity to be 'spotlighted' to receive individual praise and positive feedback. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations and creativity in this class! You can always make any changes or substitutions to our challenge of the week. Upon enrollment there will PDF files attached to the first post on the 'learner side' of the classroom - a blank mood board/portfolio sheet, as well as my reference worksheets for hairstyles and skirts/dresses. Students can print them out and bring them to class - you are also more than welcome to use your own fashion sketchbooks or blank paper if you prefer. Supplies: - Paper or Sketchbook - Pencil and Eraser - Coloring Supplies (colored pencils, crayons, markers, etc.) Optional: - Printed Mood Board and Reference Sheets - White out pen, white gel pen, or white paint pen (great for adding highlights and white details) - Glitter gel pens (great for sparkle or glitter additions)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Families!
My name is Nicole - my students usually call me Ms. Cole. I graduated from ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts with a double major in Design Studies - with a focus in 3D modeling and digital fabrication; and the other in Art Studies - with a focus in fashion and studio art.
I have a passion for the arts and really enjoy creating with clay and drawing in my free time. I love teaching fashion, drawing, and art classes; as well as early learning foundations for preschool and pre-k.
I am a multi-certified lead teacher for toddlers, preschool, and pre-k. I taught preschool and pre-k for five years, and I absolutely loved it!
I am a homeschool mom to my amazing daughter who keeps me on my toes and helps me come up with exciting new class ideas all the time.
I can't wait to see you in class!
**Recording Policy**
For everyone's privacy and safety I do not release our class recordings. Learners tend to share location/private/personal details during our meetings, and I will always ensure learner privacy in our classroom.
