During this one time class students will be introduced to mushrooms. They will take a closer look into the parts and different species of these fantastic fungus.

Student will begin class with a power point presentation filled with pictures explaining mushrooms. It's important that learners walk away with the knowledge that mushrooms are part of the fungus family and that their are many different types of mushrooms. Teacher Lauren will begin to explain students the parts of the mushrooms. As the class discus the parts of a mushroom, students will be making play dough mushroom models to go go along with the explanation. During the art portion of class, Children will then be making their own mushroom art work.

Students will learn simple facts about a mushroom.
Students will be working on fine motor skills during their craft.

Hello, Parents! My name is Teacher Lauren. It's so nice to meet you! Let me tell you a little bit about myself!
With over 18 years of teaching experience I am so very excited to start an exciting adventure with your child. I grew up in a small shrimping community in Louisiana. I have a Associates degree in science in early childhood education. I have experience working with children both in a preschool setting and 3rd-5th grade in a classroom setting. I now have 2 years of experience teaching online in a virtual classroom.
I alter my teaching style to meet the needs of the student(s). I strive to engage children through games and hands on activities. I have created a flexible curriculum that can be altered to better suit my students. In my classes, your learner will be having so much fun that they will not even realize they are learning! I encourage a lot of engagement and participation between myself and the learners as well as learner to learner.
When I am not teaching I am with my family. I am married and have 3 teenaged children. We also have 2 fur babies named Nunya and Kajun. As a family we enjoy Friday night high school football games, or after the season ends you can find us having family game night. I also enjoy going to the beach, and disney.
