Description

Class Experience

In this class you will learn how to make a Beautiful fascinator, which is a style of hat. We will assemble the hat onto a pre-blocked hat base. You will need to purchase the supplies listed below before the class starts. Basic sewing skills or use of a hot glue gun will be required. You can choose any color for the materials below. This will be a fascinator like you see at the Kentucky derby or ascot. We will also learn about hat etiquette, the art of millinery (hat making) and different...

Materials you will need for this class are as follows:
- Small button Hat base (https://www.amazon.com/Jiecikou-Fascinators-Pillbox-Cocktail-Headwear/dp/B07R96P459/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=Hat+base&qid=1597426481&sr=8-10) any color
- 1 yard of 2” ribbon (in a color that matches or complements the hat base)
- 1/2 yard of 4 or 5” horsehair crinoline to be or not to be match or compliment the hat base (https://www.etsy.com/shop/GreenBSupplies?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=480544469)
- needle and thread or hot glue gun with glue sticks
- 1 extra large peony feather flower (https://www.houseofadorn.com/feathers/by-type/flowers/flower-feather-peony-w-crinkle-cut-leaves-x-large) in any color — you may also pick some flowers if you would like
- hat elastic OR headband to match your hair color or the hat base (https://www.etsy.com/listing/128525098/blonde-elastic-hat-bands-with-prongs-for?ref=shop_home_active_9&crt=1)
- thimble
- fabric scissors
