In this ongoing class, we will discuss interesting facts about farm animals! I have chickens, quail, rabbits, and goats that I will be showing kids while we talk about them. I have very good internet at my barn. We will talk about what the animals eat (and watch me feed them their favorite treats!), learn and watch how they interact, and talk about many more interesting facts about them, and we can even talk about how to take care of them! The goats can be very funny. Did you know that goats are similar to dogs and can read human body language? Research shows that they prefer smiling faces! This is because they were domesticated about 10,000 years ago. They have evolved with people as their caretakers! My goats are the ones in the picture. I have five goats, named Buttercup, Junami, Posey, Batman, and Robin.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Grand Valley State University
I live with my husband in a wooden yurt on our farm near the mountains in Colorado. We are both music and writing teachers on Outschool. He teaches guitar as well as the instruments that I teach! His name is Steven Middendorp. I have been teaching ukulele on Outschool for about four years now and I love that I get to teach what I am so passionate about! The classes I teach include ukulele, banjo, general music, farming/gardening classes, and English classes. I have my bachelors degree in Sociology and three years experience teaching English as a second language. I have 7 years experience in gardening and taking care of farm animals. I believe learning should be fun and should be tailored to students as individuals with their individual gifts and challenges.
