Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this 4-Day Camp, students will create art using their preferred digital art software (Clip Studio Paint, Procreate, Krita, MediBang Paint Pro, Autodesk Sketchbook, and more). This course is designed to provide students with the skills they need to learn/improve how they approach digital character design.

Students will cover an assortment of topics throughout the four day camp such as sketching, shape language, anatomy, proportions, expressions, line work, costuming, color, style, and more!

Students require access to a drawing tablet with stylus/pen, and digital software to take this camp. Students are also responsible for understanding the basics of operating their software. I have provided a list of both free and paid for art applications and software in the Materials section of the camp.

The following indicates the outline for this 4-Day Camp:

Day 1: Foundations of Character Design (Who is Your Character?)

Day 2: Anatomy, Proportions, and Expressions (Bringing Your Character To Life)

Day 3: Costuming, Color, and Style (Dressing The Part)

Day 4: Final Design and Digital Polish (The Big Reveal)

I look forward to seeing what we create together!

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Students require access to a digital tablet with stylus/pen, and digital software to take this course. The software is only intended for art purposes. There should be no risk of harm to your computer from downloading or advertisements being displayed while using the software. Students under the age of 13 may require a parent account. Students will also be able to use a preferred search engine, such as Google, for the purpose of gathering reference images. The reference images are to help students better understand the character they are creating, have a better understanding of how to dynamically pose their character, and to figure out what types of outfits their character might wear. It is highly suggested that the safe search is turned on your child's computer/device they will be using to access reference images.
