Students should continue to learn and participate in fantasy leagues. That is the best way to build their skills. Use the Pro Tips sheet to help you learn more. I offer an ongoing class during the NFL season that allows students to participate in a real fantasy league with other Outschool participants. It's called "Fantasy Fun! Part 2- Join and Play in a Real Season Long Fantasy League". It can be found in the next class section.Assessment
The students will be assessed informally based on how they draft their team during the mock drafts.Class Experience
Hello Outchool community. I am a middle school football coach in Houston, Texas. I love all things football including fantasy football. Did you know that fantasy football is a multi-billion dollar business? That's right. People make a living off of a game that's really fun to play. Not only is it fun, but their a many jobs working in the fantasy football industry. Sports broadcasting, media sites, blogs, newspapers, and more have jobs available for knowledgeable fantasy football fans. But, you have to learn the game somewhere in order to get started. In this class students will learn the ins and outs of fantasy football. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in engaging conversations with their peers about football. The students will learn about different types of leagues, scoring, draft strategies, waiver wire transactions, and resources to help guide them. After students finish this course they will have the tools they need to participate in actual fantasy leagues. In fact they are able to join one of my ongoing classes where students participate in real leagues with other peers on Outschool during the NFL season. Students will also receive a curated tip sheet to help them continue to build on their knowledge of fantasy football. After each learning session students will get to test their skills by participating in a mock draft. They will practice live drafting and creating a team of their own. The class will consist of short lecture, lots of peer interaction, and actual experience with creating a fantasy team. Students do not need any prior knowledge to participate in this class. We will be using actual fantasy football apps and related materials. Class Structure: 1. Fantasy Fundamentals Lesson 2. Q&A Session (Tips and Tricks) 3. Live Mock Draft (Students log onto an actual draft and practice creating a team of their own) 4. Open Discussion about draft and teams This will be a hands on and very social class. I look forward to seeing you guys soon.
Learning Goals
The main goals of this class are to learn to play a lifelong game, make new friends who share the same interest, and build real world social skills among peers.
