In this club, we will travel to far off places, meet curious characters, and adventure together through reading our favorite fantasy novels. Learners will get to discuss their favorite parts of the book and make new friends.

Does your learner love reading tales of far off places, magic, or heroic characters in impossible situations? Then this is the book club for them! During this weekly ongoing course, we will meet to discuss the week's chosen reading title. We will spend 2 weeks on each book. Learners will be expected to pre-read the week's chapters prior to the class meeting. In this club we will focus on reading for fun and enjoyment but will discuss grade level literary standards such as Key Ideas & Details, Craft & Structure, and Integration of Knowledge & Ideas.
Homework Offered
Please note that we read two books per month, and that it is the student’s responsibility to acquire and read the assigned reading before class begins. All titles chosen are widely available wherever books are sold/lent and in a variety of formats (physical book, eBook, and audio).2 - 4 hours per week outside of class

Although I choose books I feel are appropriate for all students, I appreciate everyone has differing thoughts and values. Therefore, I do encourage you to please visit commonsense media or another outlet to make sure you feel the books are appropriate for your child. If your child is enrolled in the class, that is your acceptance of the book for your student to read.
