Hello! In this One-Time class, learners ages 4-9 will explore vowel team sounds in a fun and interactive way! We will first distinguish the two vowel team sounds through utilizing Katie Garner's Secret Stories. We will sort pictures with vowel team sounds and we will then look at words with different vowel team sounds and interact with one another to identify the vowel team in the picture/word. We will also play a game to match vowel team sounds! I believe meeting students where they are at academically is so important and I will be accessing throughout class to determine the next direction that instruction should take. I also believe it is paramount that learning be engaging, so we will be having fun in class! Please join me on this journey of Fantastic Phonics: Vowel Teams! Hello! I'm Teacher Vanessa and I am so excited to teach your child! I hope to help your child meet their highest potential through fun and engaging lessons. I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Early Childhood Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. I have over ten years of teaching experience. Five of those years were spent teaching English Language Learners in the classroom. It was here that I discovered my passion for teaching ESL students. I have since continued teaching English Language Learners online overseas. Outside of the classroom I enjoy reading, hiking, and chasing my kids around!
