In this one time class we will review the growth of fungi; covering spore release, monokaryotic and dikaryotic hyphae, spitzenkorper cells, primordial formation and mushroom growth, and fusion and division of cells in the basidium.

Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will explore the life cycle of fungi from spore to mycelium, to mushroom growth, and back to spore release.

Previous Teacher Certification in Elementary Education (K-7), Biology (7-12) and Earth Science (7-12) 
 Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies: State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Syracuse, New York Major; Wildlife Biology, Minor; Ecology
No homework will be required. 
 1 file available upon enrollment
A hand-out of terms and topics covered will be provided in class. A notebook and pencil will be required to take notes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be no assessment for this course. 
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
