3 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this creative writing class, learners will get the opportunity to watch their favorite animals come to life. They will get to choose their own characters, describe their outer appearances and behaviors, create a fantastic setting, and work on a plot using each other's characters. The constructed plot becomes the basis for writing the class's fable. As the learners choose their animal characters and appearances in week 1 of class, they learn to develop their character's roles and personalities in week 2.Throughout the class, the learners (with the teacher's guidance) are invited to interact with their fellow classmates and help out with shaping their animal characters and stories. In week 3, learners are required to create a setting and a timeline for their fable plot. In the last week of class, learners revise and edit all 3 elements of their fable (character, plot, setting) and finalize their draft by adding a moral lesson and a title.
Learning Goals
Learners will prove their understanding of writing a fable by participating and working together as a group. Although every learner will come up with their own animal character (type, outer looks, behavior, voice, personality traits etc.), they all engage with the fable's creative process (plot, setting, and moral lesson).

Teacher expertise and credentials
Other than being an English teacher for over a decade, I have given creative writing workshops to all levels and ages. However, my focus for this workshop does not only pertain to writing skills and creativity, but also to morality and proper ethical stances that kids can learn from and discuss in a fun way.
