Description

Class Experience

In this 10-day workshop, students will review all things fractions: what is a fraction, all operations, equivalent, comparing, reducing/simplifying, and more!  We will learn and discuss fractions in ways that will reach every learner.  In our first class, I will find out what is of interest to each student.  I will weave those interests into our classes to help everyone connect and make fractions relevant to each person.

Some topics may be review for learners and some topics may be new to...

Practice problems will be assigned to help students "cement" their learning.  Homework will take less than 20 minutes after each class.

Interactive notes pages (to be printed out from our class page)
Colorful pens or colored pencils
Fractions folder (a folder to keep the pages in)
Extra scratch paper (for working out problems and/or for tearing up into fractions)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

4 hours 35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
