Learners will be introduced to the history of the Swedish Dala Horse, as they create their own using folk art painting techniques. I will provide learners with a brief presentation on the topic, followed by step-by-step drawing instruction, along with a provided example for reference. Students will be guided to create their own art while reflects their personal style and interpretation. Opportunities to engage with their peers will be through discussion, participation, and the sharing of artwork, if they so desire. My teaching style is kind and patient, and I encourage my students to explore their creativity and experiment with new techniques in a fun, supportive environment. I believe art fosters self-esteem through skill building and independent thinking, while giving students the confidence to express themselves authentically. There is no prior knowledge required - just a love of art, and an adventurous spirit!
