Calling all fans of the Percy Jackson series and Greek mythology! This is a place to share all your wildest ideas and turn the Percy Jackson universe into a playground for your imagination. Each week students will be presented with a new prompt relating to the world of Percy Jackson and/or Greek mythology. Prompts will cover a range of multimedia and allow students to explore varying themes, characters, and settings within the Percy Jackson universe. New prompts will be presented weekly. During class students are given some quiet time to write a short piece inspired by what they have read/seen/heard. They are then encouraged to share what they have written (if they feel comfortable doing so). This is a great way to build confidence, get feedback, and connect with other writers. Please note, this class is not for nitpicking at students’ writing abilities (correcting spelling grammar, etc). The point is to get students excited about writing in general and build up their confidence as writers. It is a place for sharing and collaboration. A place to feel safe expressing their wild and wacky ideas. Anything and everything goes! Class is structured as follows: ✔️Introductions and warm up (~5-10 minutes) ✔️Prompt reveal and open discussion (~5-10 minutes) ✔️Individual writing time (15 minutes) ✔️Sharing and discussion (~5-10 minutes) Class Topics: Week of 18/11/24: The Demigod Reveal 🏛️⚡ Week of 25/11/24: Fighting Medusa 🐍 🗡️ Week of 02/12/24: Create Your Own Prophecy 🔮 Week of 09/12/24: A God Visits Camp 🔱⛺️ Week of 16/12/24: Inside the Aphrodite Cabin 💓💄
