US Grade 4 - 7
Calling all fans of the Percy Jackson series and Greek mythology. This is a place to share all your wildest ideas and turn the Percy Jackson universe into a playground for your imagination! Each week students will be presented with a new prompt relating to the world of Percy Jackson and/or Greek mythology. Prompts will cover a range of multimedia and allow students to explore varying themes, characters, and settings within the Percy Jackson universe. During class students are given some quiet time to write a short piece inspired by what they have read/seen/heard. They are then encouraged to share what they have written. This is a great way to build confidence, get feedback, and connect with other writers. Please note, this class is not for nitpicking at students’ writing abilities (correcting spelling grammar, etc). The point is to get students excited about writing in general and build up their confidence as writers. It is a place for sharing and collaboration. A place to feel safe expressing their wild and wacky ideas. Anything and everything goes! Class is structured as follows: ✔️Introductions and warm up (~5-10 minutes) ✔️Prompt reveal and open discussion (~5-10 minutes) ✔️Individual writing time (15 minutes) ✔️Sharing and discussion (~5-10 minutes) Class Topics: Week of 18/11/24: The Demigod Reveal 🏛️⚡ Week of 25/11/24: Fighting Medusa 🐍 🗡️ Week of 02/12/24: Create Your Own Prophecy 🔮 Week of 09/12/24: A God Visits Camp 🔱⛺️ Week of 16/12/24: Inside the Aphrodite Cabin 💓💄 Week of 23/12/24: A visit to Elysium🪽😇 Week of 30/12/24: A Demigod goes Dark 😈🦹 Week of 06/01/25: Take your Demigod to Work Day 🌈 🍋 Week of 13/01/25: Adventures in the Mist 🌫️👩🦰 Week of 20/01/25: Thalia the Pine Tree 🌲⚡️ Week of 27/01/25: Festus Gets a Makeover 🥉🐉 Week of 03/02/25: An Eternal Maiden 🏹🌕 Week of 10/02/25: C.C.'s Spa and Resort 💅🐹 Week of 17/02/25: Annabeth Chase and the Olympians 🦉🧢 Week of 24/02/25: Camp Half Blood 2.0 🚧🏕️ Week of 03/03/25: Ichorflu 🤒🤧 Week of 10/03/25: The Next Generation 👶🍼 Week of 17/03/25: A Weekend on Ogygia 🏝️👩🦰 Week of 24/03/25: Sally's Odyssey 👩🏻🔱 Week of 31/03/25: Create your own Quest Stop 🛑 Week of 07/04/25: A Flag Worth Fighting For 🏃🚩 Week of 14/04/25: The Tale of Charlie and Silena 💔🔨 Week of 21/04/25: Nico in the Underworld 👻🧒🏻🪦🍔 Week of 28/04/25: Demigod Daycare 🍼👶 Week of 05/05/25: A Cyclops Wedding 💍👁️👰 Week of 12/05/25: Half-Blood High 🏫🧑🎓 Week of 19/05/25: Bob the Janitor 💀🧹🪦 Week of 26/05/25: TBD *New topics will be added in the coming weeks.*
