Our adventure begins with an elegant and rousing hello song, greeting each learner individually as they settle in. To get our wiggles out and our focus on, we will improvise (that is fancy for "freeze dance") to Fancy Nancy's theme song as well as a truly fashionable holiday tune. From there, it will be time for our tale- Jane O'Connor's masterpiece, Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas. Of course Fancy Nancy books are packed full of the most refined and dignified words, so we will pause throughout the book to practice our sophisticated new vocabulary. Class will close by making our very own wands (among Nancy's favorite accessories!) out of common (though of course not drab!) craft supplies. If time allows, learners will show one another their mesmerizing projects. Learners are welcome to attend in fancy attire, whatever that may mean to them.

A wand base, such as a popsicle stick, straw, pipe cleaner, or paper towel tube Wand decor, such as stickers, glitter, ribbons, rhinestones, googly eyes, or anything else fancy you may have on hand Crayons, markers, or colored pencils Paper (craft, construction, scrapbook, or printer paper would all be fine) Tape or glue Scissors (and maybe a grownup to go with them!)
