In this single class we will read Fancy Nancy and The Mermaid Ballet and have a beginners ballet class.
Class experience
During our Fancy Nancy story time and ballet class we will begin class by reading Fancy Nancy and The Mermaid Ballet by Jane O'Conner then continue class into our dancing portion. The dancing portion of class will include a short stretching time, ballet technique, across the floor activities and end with a ballet leap and curtsey. Our ballet technique will cover such things as plies, tondues, piques, and a few more simple beginner steps. I encourage all dancers to have enough space to move...
Student will learn basic ballet steps, by the end of class they should be able to demonstrate simple steps and repeat basic terminology.
Comfortable clothes to dace and easily move in Ballet shoes if you have them, otherwise socks or barefoot will be fine
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
As with any physical activity we want to be sure we are being as safe as possible. Please provide your child with a space that is open where they are free to move and dance without interference. Also please be sure to be dancing on non slick floor (such as carpet) If you are dancing on a slippery surface please consider dancing barefoot (no socks) All dance steps are appropriate for the age group but please make your best judgement as a parent if steps are too hard for your dancer or potentially dangerous. We ask that all parents be off camera to supervise and watch their dancer.
