Princess Hypalotta loves everything fancy- like her tiara, going to balls, and of course, dancing! We will read her story with colorful pictures and rhyming prose. We will then get up and learn some ballet positions, plie, passe, releve and a short ballet dance fit for a prince or princess at any royal ball! At the end, we will practice our bows, curtseys, and royal waves to end class. While reading the story, and teaching the dance, I will mute learners so everyone can hear, but there will be time at the beginning, middle, and end to chat and share. Leaners are welcome to dress in their royal best! I'm excited to tell you the book is available now on Amazon! Learning Goals
While listening to the story, learners will practice their listening skills and learn about friendship and kindness. During the dance, not only will learners learn dance moves, but poise, following skills, balance, and presentational skills.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Because we will be dancing, learners are asked to have either bare feet or comfortable shoes that have a back (socks can be too slippery). They might also want water nearby for a sip during our time together. If wearing a dress or a skirt, please have something under so you can move freely.
Supply List
Learns are welcome to dress up in their royal best for class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
