Description
Class Experience
The only homework will be to read the story for the following week ahead of time so that you may easily discuss it in class and be able to better understand our fill-in-the-blanks version of it as well. I will provide either a copy of the story or a link to it for parents and learners to read prior to class.
Learners will need the following: Playdough WARNING: Playdough contains gluten and may not be used by students that have gluten intolerance. Gluten-free playdough may be used in place of typical playdough. Rolling pin (or something else that can be used to roll out/flatten the dough) Plastic kid's knife (Nothing sharp!) Other tools for playdough mini-making-I will provide a list one week prior to each class for specific supplies needed. Other crafting/art materials may be needed. I will give specific supply lists for each week. I will provide learners with a copy or link to whichever story we will be discussing the following week. This is to ensure that we all read the same version, and that it is an age-appropriate version.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
WARNING: Playdough contains gluten and may not be used by students that have gluten intolerance. Gluten-free playdough may be used in place of typical playdough. Please be aware: There is no baking in this class. These mini-cakes are for short-term fun (they will dry out). Also, please remind learners that these cakes are not for eating. Adult supervision/help may be required for some learners, particularly with help with the plastic knife tool. Safety first! PLEASE BE AWARE: Many fairytales, especially non-Disney versions of them, have dark themes, violence, non-feminist elements, etc. I will use common sense to determine which version of the story to use. WARNING: Do NOT allow your children to simply "look up" traditional versions of these stories as some of them are highly inappropriate. I will provide every learner with a child-friendly version of the story beforehand for you to read before and with your child.

Miss AlexIs there anything more satisfying than a well-crafted story? Or a well-crafted miniature cake, for that matter?
