In this 1 hour long class, students will create their very own wearable fairy crowns using a glue gun, faux flowers, natural elements and some simple materials.

Description

Class Experience

Through this class, students will -
Learn to be responsible about using tools such as a glue gun, 
Learn fun techniques to create shapes and designs using a glue technique, 
Learn about faux finishing painting techniques, 
Design a wearable art piece and have the ability to recreate what they've learned easily, 
It is a fun age appropriate art project for elementary into middle school kids.
Materials needed to make a fairy crown- -Stiff plastic or metal headband to use as the base for your head piece OR enough wire to go around your head 2 times. If using wire, some cutters to cut wire. -A silicone baking mat or Parchment baking paper -Measuring tape or string to measure head -Acrylic craft paint- any color/s you prefer. You can use metallic, glitter, neon etc. -A brush with water for paint and a towel / paper towel. -A glue gun with at least 5 full size glue sticks or 10 mini glue sticks. If you plan to do a large crown, have extra glue sticks on hand. -Newspaper, cardboard or aluminum foil. (Something you can have under you to catch any drips of glue or paint.) -Faux flowers or leaves to decorate and/or natural elements such as sticks or twigs, pine cones, acorns, etc. OPTIONAL - Wire and some cutters to wire on elements - Ribbon to tie and dangle off your headpiece - Beads to thread on the ribbon - Rhinestones, glass stones or large plastic jewels to embellish your crown. - Glitter or glitter paint to add sparkle to your crown. - If using glitter, have a clear coat like Modge Podge on hand to give a protective coat at end.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
