In this one time class we will learn about four female scientists, Rosiland Franklin, Tiera Guinn, Stephanie Kwolek and Dr. Helen Brooke Taussig. I believe in a learn through play philosophy. These women accomplished so much against unspeakable odds. We will follow their lives through an engaging slide show and we will relate their character traits to our own lives. We will then play a Kahoot game where two truths and one lie about each scientist will be presented and the learners will have...
Students will not only leave knowing facts about the lives and accomplishments of each scientist, but also feeling encouraged and empowered to follow their own dreams in the face of adversity.
40 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
