Description
Class Experience
In this class we will begin each lesson with phonemic awareness. This will include beginning and ending sounds of words, deletion, onset rhyme and more. Next we will move into our phonic feature of the week. This feature is determined by a spelling test that will be given before sessions begin. We will tap out our words then map them on a chart. Once we map them, scholars are then asked to write the word out. Last, scholars will slide their finger under the word to read it out loud. We will...
Students will improve their reading skills by using phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, and decodable reading.
I have a masters in Elementary reading as well as Curriculum and Instruction. As an elementary teacher of both 2nd and 3rd grade scholars, I reach reading on many various levels. My scholars show a tremendous amount of growth using the my strategies and I am excited to help more scholars grow in reading.
Students may be required to practice sight words, phonics skills, or reading as homework each week.
