This is a step by step acrylic painting class, where we will learn some fun painting tips! We begin by drawing the image together, so learners will need to have some basic drawing skills. It really isn't too difficult, we will be drawing simple shapes! After drawing, we'll work through the painting process together, learning to blend and mix colors along the way. Students can choose any color for the truck, but I chose turquoise because it really pops! I typically require 3 learners for a class to make, so I encourage you to invite friends to paint along too!

Materials: - a 9x12 canvas or canvas board -pencil -Sharpie -a variety of brushes (medium and small) -a water cup and papertowels -a plate or palette -acrylic paint (blue, white, black, red, yellow, brown, turquoise) Optional: -paper to cover the table -an apron or playclothes

Hi! Welcome to my profile. My name is Caitie, and I'm an art teacher in Texas. I currently work at a Montessori school, teaching elementary art full time, but I also teach classes and camps, private studios, and our regional art museum. I LOVE that I get to combine my passion for art and shaping young minds into my career and wouldn't want to do anything else! I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts, focused in painting and printmaking. In addition to teaching, I am also a working artist and show my paintings in local museums and shops.
