Fall Leaf Fun: Leaf Facts and Leaf Art
In this one time course, students will learn why the leaves change colors and drop from the trees, and create pictures with leaves.

Students will learn the science behind fall leaves: why they drop from the trees and why leaves change colors. Students should come to class with small fresh fall leaf collection to discuss and use in an art project for the last part of class. After the information is presented with a slide show, students can show their favorite fall leaf, and then use their leaf collection to create a picture to share with the class. Students will have a challenge of creating a leaf design in 10 minutes, and then we will share with the group. If time allows, students will participate in a Fall Leaf trivia game using Kahoot.

Supply List
Students will need a small collection of leaves, glue, scissors, and paper. A note-taking guide will be provided, but it is optional. This will be for students to take notes during the information presentation. A parent may want to get the Kahoot website ready on another tab or device so the student can participate in the interactive trivia game (if time allows).
