In this class, student will be creating a painting of a field in fall. Students will learn how to sketch the landscape using simple shapes and lines, and refine that sketch into a painting using simple watercolor techniques.
Class Experience
In this class, we will be sketching and painting a beautiful fall landscape, featuring grasses that have turned coppery shades of gold and red. Class will begin with going over materials, and then dive right into the creative process. We start by sketching the scene, using simple shapes and lines, and a step by step process with clear instructions. After we have our foundational sketch, we will begin painting, refining the scene into a finished piece, using layered washes and simple brush...
- Learning goals include: basic understanding of what a landscape painting is, how to use a landscape photograph and turn it into a simple landscape painting, and how to use color and paint layering in a watercolor painting to build depth into a landscape.
-watercolor paper -watercolor paint -large, medium, and small round paint brushes -pencil and eraser -paper towel and water cup -masking tape -hair blowdryer
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
