Description

Class Experience

We will explore the beauty of watercolor while creating this lovely fall scene.  Students will learn to control the water to paint mix to achieve a  background and foreground.  We will discuss what colors to begin a watercolor with, and why shading and hi-lighting are such an important part of a painting. We will have some basic colors to use and mixing our own colors will be encouraged.  A little color theory is always thrown into the lesson.  My teaching style is to give enough instruction...

Learners will learn to control the amount of water and paint to achieve a background and foreground in this fall painting.

I have been painting, and teaching art for over twenty years and continue to be inspired by my students' skill and creativity.

  1 file available upon enrollment8 inch by 10 inch watercolor paper,
 bowl or water,
 paper towels,
number 12 round brush that comes to a point, 
1/2 inch square, flat top brush
palette paper (or a watercolor tray or foam plate),
Watercolor paint tubes, not the trays.  A set is easy to find a craft stores.  We will use white, yellow, orange, alizarin crimson(red), purple, blue, green, brown and black.

I will write a brief note to the student after class.

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
