In this weekly ongoing class students will learn new drawing techniques and draw various topics.We will draw still life’s and learn the importance of light and shadow.We will also learn the importance of detail in a still life, as well as practice drawing different textures.We will also learn to draw hands and eyes, work on portraits and the structure of the human face, landscapes and many other topics!Students will learn how to use shade and light to create dynamic realistic drawings. Students will learn about the use of shading to make a drawing look realistic.They will Learn about the principles and elements of design and will be able to use this technique throughout their lessons.Artists will practice drawing portraits, still life's, and landscapes using the various techniques that they have learned during class. Students will learn about the structure of the human face and will effectively be able to draw a realistic portrait. Please keep in mind that students work at their own pace and might have to work on their projects after class.I encourage all my students to express their own creativity and a comfortable encouraging environment!
I have attended Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Arts on a full-ride scholarship and I am a Presidential Scholar and Young Arts Scholar in the Academics and Arts.I have taught art and painted for 12 years and have showcased my artwork in the Smithsonian Museum and Galleries in Miami and New York City!
Paper(Sketchbook preferred) Pencil Eraser Sharpener Illustrations or photos may be provided to draw; students will have the option to provide their own. Students may be asked to provide known objects to draw in person and pastels such as chalk. (We will discuss in class if they are needed specifically!)
