Fall Drawing Class: Pumpkins!
In this seasonal class, we will draw a colorful pumpkin in front of a rustic fence to welcome the season.
Nothing shouts "fall" like big, colorful, and beautiful pumpkins! In this fall drawing class, together, we will draw a colorful pumpkin in front of a rustic wooden fence. We will add various colors, shading, and explore using highlights to bring our pumpkin to life. Adding leaves and foliage beneath our pumpkin will create depth and a pumpkin-patch feel to the composition. This is one of my fall drawing classes for those who love the season as much as I do, and want to capture some of its...
Students will practice observation skills, color mixing, highlights, and shadows.
I am a former Art Teacher and had the privilege of teaching art for 2 years to K-8th grade students using various mediums and forms. A lot of my class instruction was teaching the art of drawing. Weekly, we drew various compositions ranging from seasonal landscapes, wild animals, nature, and portraits. Students enjoyed learning skills to create realistic drawings while adding as much flare and creative variation as they liked. Watching students enjoy making art and grow in their own confidence was truly a priceless gift. In addition to teaching art, I am an artist and have an art studio in my home. I've used my love for hand-lettering and design to start a business in 2015 selling products with my work. It's been so fun!
Please have students bring a piece of printer paper, a pencil, a black fine tip marker for outlining, and colored pencils, pastels, markers or crayons. Whatever items they bring for coloring, they’ll want various oranges, red, yellow, and various greens, browns, and whatever other colors they prefer.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
