Fall Crafts To Encourage Reading: Let's Make Cute Corner Bookmarks
In this five-day course, learners will make a different corner bookmark each day of the week, Monday through Friday, to celebrate fall as well as to encourage reading. (Individual classes available for each bookmark.)

Does your child love to read? Do you wish your child would love to read more? Learners will have fun creating five corner bookmarks to encourage reading this season. I will demonstrate every step of the way and will answer any questions learners may have. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary for this class. However, please make sure your learner is comfortable with using scissors. If not, please be on standby in case help is needed. A list of supplies is listed below for each day of the week. I would hate for your learner to fall behind, get frustrated - or, worse, not be able to complete the craft due to missing supplies. Therefore, please make sure he/she/they will have everything ready prior to class. Thank you for your cooperation to ensure class is run smoothly and will end on time. Note: class is scheduled for forty minutes, but I may go a little over on time depending on class size and learners' ability.

Note: only one piece of 4 in. X 4 in. square paper will be needed to make each bookmark, but more is recommended just in case your learner would like to start over or has time to make more. Hello!
Thank you for stopping by. My students call me Teacher Vaughn. I have over fifteen years of experience working with children, starting with tutoring and working the after school program at a local elementary school while I attended college. After graduation, I became a preschool teacher and continued to work as a tutor at my daughter's elementary school for many years. My journey of working with children went online in 2017 when I became an English teacher to children in China. To date, I have taught over two thousand classes to over five thousand students, ages five to twelve.
My background of working with children has been on an academic level, but I'm looking forward to moving in a different direction with Outschool. Here, I would like to share my love of crafting, of Korean pop music (I have my teenage daughter to thank for this!) and of languages.
I find crafting to be so much fun and therapeutic. I discovered the joy of crafting fifteen years ago and have since made origamis of different items, JOY wreaths, floral wreaths, floral crowns, garlands, door bows, banners, seasonal things, baby shower gifts such as diaper cakes and sashes, backdrops for many different occasions as well as money leis for special occasions.
Fun facts about me:
* I taught my daughter to read in 100 days.
* I speak several languages and can understand a couple more.
* I find joy in planning special events because I find joy in seeing everyone gathered together.
* My daughter and I have had random dance parties since she was a toddler. Now, my teenager and I dance to K-pop music almost every single day.
* I was the social committee chair at my daughter's elementary school and had the best time. Although I no longer hold this position in middle school I am very much a part of the social committee. School dances will forever be my favorite school events to plan.
* I love to take pictures, but I'm an "auto mode" type of photographer -- and I'm okay with that. I take more than I need, delete less than I should and, with those images, have started quite a library of photo books for my family.
