30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class student will be asked the question " Why do the leaves change colors in the fall?" We will discuss the roll chlorophyll plays in the growth of trees and plants, as well as the color change. We will have a discussion about our hypothesis, and view slides describing just what causes leaves to change their color as the days get shorter. Students will then be guided on how to complete an easy at home experiment, that will show them just how many colors there are in a leaf. We will prep the required material as a class and the students will again share their hypothesis as to what will happen. Over the next couple of hours hours students will unlock the many colors of the leaves. I will have a completed experiment to show the students what they can expect to see in their own experiment. After a couple of hours has passed the students can discuss with family the changes they observed, and how this compares to their hypothesis. The class will be interactive, with guided discussion. PowerPoint slides will also be used to engage and learn. I enjoy creating an atmosphere where children are comfortable with being themselves and discovering just how brilliant their minds can be. No prior knowledge is required.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello parents and students! My name is Mr.Kenny! I am married to my beautiful wife, Heather, who is also an Outschool teacher! We have an amazing four year old little boy named Alyas! I enjoy watching him grow and learn! My family and I are full-time travelers, living in a travel trailer, seeing the country and all the great things it has within it. I have 9+ years of teaching and volunteer work with children ages 3-14, and I'm also an online ESL teacher. I'm very excited to teach through Outschool, helping children learn and grow, all while having a blast doing it! When it comes to my teaching style, I love all things outdoors, so I want to bring that passion to my students. I was in the Army for 6 years, 2 of which I was a Drill SGT, so I have a lot of life skills to share, as well as survival skills and techniques. A lot of my classes will be hands on and outside, while others may be a little more laid back, but all of them will be a lot of fun! I look forward to meeting you!
