This class is perfect for learners who are interested in finding out why the trees around them change colours. It's also a great class for those students that live in warmer places and might not get to experience this magical time. - We will first start class by looking at the regions of North America that have deciduous trees. - We will take a look at how the inclination of the world creates seasons. - We will then look at the kinds of trees that go through this process. They will learn to identify some leaves as well. - Students will learn what happens to the leaves and why. - We will finish the lesson colouring the leaves and creating little creatures with them. Students have access to worksheets to take notes and colour if they wish to use them.
Learning Goals
Students will learn why the colour of the leaves of deciduous trees change in the fall.

Hello!
My name is Yvonne and I am a certified elementary school teacher in Quebec, Canada. I have 5 years of experience teaching in a classroom setting and over three years of experience teaching ESL online.
I am a stay-at-home mom at the moment. I have three boys under the age of 8 that keep me very busy. I'm so excited to have found Outschool because I have missed being in the classroom and teaching subjects that I love. I believe students learn the best when they feel comfortable in the classroom. I engage my students by being genuine, encouraging, patient, and funny. Building rapport and relationships with my students is as important as the content of the lesson.
I have a passion for languages and speak three myself (English, French, and Swiss German). I also get by in Spanish and German. I will be creating French classes for beginners. I want my students to enjoy learning a new language and feel comfortable enough to speak it in my class.
I also really love travelling and have been lucky enough to have visited many countries in Europe, South America, and Africa. I will be offering classes that take us around the world. Some of my travel classes will have a different focus (animals, food, extreme weather, etc.) while others will be more general but focus on a specific country.
I also really enjoy teaching through the use of picture books and will be creating a variety of lessons based on some of my favourite books. I will be creating lessons that focus on making connections as readers. I also enjoy teaching my students the writing process by first exploring different themes and topics that connect with them.
I am very happy to be teaching through Outschool and look forward to meeting your child!
