Class Experience

-One of my favorite holiday cookies are snickerdoodles. So why not enjoy them during the fall! You and your family will love these pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies. In this class we will be baking this recipe together step by step. We will discuss the importance of mixing the dry ingredients separate from the wet ingredients, and the measuring tools needed for the recipe. We will measure each ingredient together in their designated bowls, combine both wet and dry ingredients, and mix the dough. We will then wrap the dough and place in the refrigerator for chilling. We will prepare the cinnamon sugar mix and discuss how to roll dough balls before placing on baking sheet. Students will be assembling and putting cookies into oven after class is completed. You can chill the dough anywhere from 30 minutes up to 48 hours.
-This recipe yields 36 pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies.
-During the baking instructions we will also discuss how to keep a clean baking zone as we go, for easy clean up at the end.
-Students should be aware how to use a whisk, hand mixer, or stand mixer for this recipe.
-At the beginning of class we will discuss our favorite fall activities.

Learning Goals

Parental Guidance
Learners have option to use whisk, hand mixer, or stand mixer (like a Kitchen Aid). If child is using hand mixer or stand mixer, parental supervision may be needed if this is their first time using these machines. I will teach students to be cautious and add ingredients while these are switched off, so up to your discretion. Parental supervision will be needed once cookies are done chilling to be placed in the oven. Butter will need to be placed out approximately 1-2 hours before class to be softened. ***Possible Allergens*** Our recipe includes dairy and eggs**

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! My name is Mrs. Morris. Welcome to my corner of Outschool where we cook some yummy meals and bake some delicious treats!

I offer both cooking and baking classes that meet every other week. Baking and cooking are two skills that are important to learn, but fun and rewarding as well! To make a meal or baked goods for your family/friends to enjoy is one of the best feelings, and I love to help my learners experience that feeling. It's also a great opportunity to branch out of our comfort zone and try new recipes!
Can't wait to see everyone in class!

**For all of my classes, please feel free to send a date/time request for a class you're interested in. I do schedule out classes in advance but I am flexible to switch that around if there are no enrollments.**
