In this 3-day Fall Art Camp, students will learn faux calligraphy to create three fall-themed art pieces. We’ll use lots of autumn inspired colors, leaves, foliage and pumpkins in this drawing and hand-lettering art camp.
Class experience
In this 3-day Fall Art Camp, we will learn the basics of modern faux calligraphy. Using these skills, we will draw fall-themed art pieces that include many fall-inspired colors and designs. This is a great class for beginners or for students who have taken some of my classes before. Students will work on following creative direction, realistic and creative drawing, balance of composition, and some color theory.
I am a former Art Teacher and had the privilege of teaching Art for 2 years to K-8th grade students using various mediums and forms. A lot of my class instruction was teaching the art of drawing. Weekly, we drew various compositions ranging from seasonal landscapes, wild animals, nature, and portraits. Students enjoyed learning skills to create realistic drawings while adding as much flare and creative variation as they liked. Watching students enjoy making art and grow in their own confidence was truly a priceless gift. In addition to teaching art, I am an artist and have an art studio in my home. I've used my love for hand-lettering and design to start a business in 2015 selling products with my work. It's been so fun!
One piece of white printer paper or card stock (3 total, 1 for each day), a good pencil with an eraser, a fine tip black marker for defining and outlining, coloring tools with various preferred colors (markers, crayons, colored pencils, pastels, etc.), and a positive attitude.
