Do you love dancing and fairytales? Join me as we learn how to dance while using our imaginations to explore fairytale worlds. This is my most popular ongoing class! Each week we will focus on different age-appropriate ballet positions, footwork, jumps and turns all while using our imaginations to retell classic fairytales or imagine we are in magical worlds. This class is a mix of ballet foundations, creative movement, dance games, storytelling and more. You are welcome to join the class...
Dancers will learn age appropriate ballet fundamentals (1st and 2nd positions, ballet footwork, across the floor jumps and turns) while using their imaginations to explore a different fairytale world or story each week. Dancers will improve their balance, flexibility, coordination and musicality.
I have 14 years of experience teaching dance to children in dance studios and schools in the USA, Costa Rica, Australia, Spain and France. I was a member of my university dance troupe in the United States and a contemporary dance company in Egypt. I currently teach dance both online on Outschool and at a studio in Australia. I hold a dance instructor training certificate from Australia. I am also a certified K-12 educator in the United States.
- Comfortable clothing (your child can dress up for the week’s theme if they like) - Socks, bare feet, or dance shoes - A water bottle - A space where your child can move around easily
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please provide a space that has enough space for your child to dance safely. Your dancer should wear comfortable clothing and have a water bottle nearby. Please mention any injuries prior to the class so I can modify the moves as needed. Zoom muting/unmuting: I will mute students during dancing so everyone can hear the music and my voice. Your child can unmute themself to ask questions at the start and end of the class or during water breaks, so please be aware that they may need some help. They will have to accept the “unmute” on their screen. By signing up for this class you understand that dance, like any physical activity, involves some risk and take responsibility for any physical injury which occurs during class.
