Fairyland Lists | Poetry Workshop

Tinkerbell, Godmothers, Pixies, Legends and Sprites join together for a themed, beginner-level creative writing session.

Early and developing writers will explore a modified List Poem form with the assistance of a word bank and guided syllable counting. In the last line of each poem, students will be expected to write one complete sentence that ties all their items together. The teacher will help with sentence construction, as needed.

Students will be shown a brief inspirational video related to the theme, review the mechanics of the poetry form and see examples before they try their own. Students will need paper and pencil at a minimum to complete their first draft (just in case they need to erase or rewrite). A lined handout and word bank will be made available upon enrollment.
