US Grade 1 - 4
Each day we will learn about the general characteristics, habitat, and habits of a different type of fair folk by exploring their representation in literature, film, and lore. (See schedule below.) Each class meeting will begin with an interactive read aloud about a specific type of fair folk. Students will be encouraged to respond to questions about the text and to share what they already know. Students will be invited to complete creative homework after class, which they can share/display during the next meeting if they desire. Day 1- Fairies Day 2- Gnomes Day 3- Trolls Day 4- Brownies (the helpful kind, not the delicious kind) Day 5- Mystery (Parents, if you need to know this ahead of time to make sure it's suitable, please send me a message. Students tend to enjoy the anticipation leading up to this.)
Learning Goals
Students will learn general characteristics of fairies, gnomes, brownies, trolls, and one mystery fair folk. They will also learn about each creature's habitat, habits, and representation in stories/movies.

Parental Guidance
Warning- Your child might start leaving milk out for Brownies after this class!
Supply List
Students will need general arts and crafts supplies to do the optional art projects after class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am a long-time fan of the fair folk and have taught classes about them to this age group before. As a licensed elementary school teacher I understand how to keep students in this age group engaged during a lesson in a way that sets them up to continue their learning experience after class.
