If at first you don't succeed...fail, fail again! Many people believe that success comes from luck or always "winning." But most of the time, the road to success is full of failure. In this class, students will meet 10 famous people who failed, failed, and failed again before finally becoming successful. In many cases it was not the luck, wealth, or intelligence of these people that resulted in success, but their perseverance and their willingness to let failure be their teacher that finally led to a breakthrough. I will use a self-made PowerPoint featuring visuals such as pictures and videos to present this information. Students will also be provided a handout that they can use to take notes about each of these "Famous Failures." I will encourage participation with discussion questions and check for understanding and foster engagement with some mini-quizzes built into the presentation. I have been teaching for many years and I firmly believe that one of the most important things we can teach our children is perseverance and resilience. I am known for my energetic and passionate teaching style, and I accommodate ALL learners in my classroom. It is my hope that after taking this class students will see failure for what it is - the ultimate teacher.
