Description
Class Experience
Learners will create fabric paint designs to hang on a window or mirror.
I have been working with children ages birth to 6th grade for 20+ years. However, I also love making fun crafts. It's even more fun to share these ideas with learners, like your child (or children)!
Let your window cling dry (24 hours is safest, though, you can dry within 3-4... or follow the directions for your specific fabric paint). Peel it off of your wax paper. Wipe the back of your cling with a damp paper towel/cloth. Attach to the window or mirror of your choice (make sure your parent/guardian is ok with the location). Enjoy!!
-Fabric Paint (places that sell it are Amazon, Target, Wal-Mart, JoAnn Fabric, Michaels... just to name a few). The brand and amount of colors is flexible. Cost can run between $6-$20, depending on how many different colors you want. Here is an example of what to look for: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Puffy-1-fl-oz-3D-Paint-Value-Pack-12-Color-Rainbow-Multi-Surface/17299895 -Wax Paper -Masking/Painter/Scotch Tape (to tape Wax Paper, so it stays in one place) -Printed designs (optional- you can find your own... try not to have TOO much detail... or I can make something for you if you message me an idea 24+ hours before class, so I can send you an attachment to print before class). Since these go UNDER the wax paper, you can use the designs over and over. -Patience (waiting for the paint to dry is the hardest part) -Damp Paper Towel/Cloth -or- Spray Bottle
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class has the potential to get a bit messy. Please have your child work in an easy-to-clean area (or cover your space with newspaper or a cover of your choice). Also, if your child has the tendency to get things on clothing easily (as some of my own do), I suggest a paint shirt or something old that you don't mind getting a bit of paint on.
