Syllabus: IEW Fables, Myths, and Fairy Tales (Part 1 of 2) - 15 Week Course
Course Overview: This course provides a rich foundation for imaginative and enjoyable writing through a variety of adventures. Students will work through IEW Units 1–7, learning to take notes, retell narrative stories, summarize references, write from pictures, and compose their own fables, myths, and fairy tales.

Week 1: The Lion and the Mouse, The Ant and the Grasshopper
•	Unit 1: Outlining, Lesson 1, vocabulary 
Week 2: The Trumpeter Taken Prisoner
•	Unit 2: Writing from an Outline, Lesson 2, vocabulary
Week 3: The Four Oxen and the Lioness
•	Lesson 3, vocabulary, -ly adverb 
Week 4: The Milkmaid and Her Pail
•	Lesson 4, vocabulary, title rule 
Week 5: The Mule and His Buyer
•	Lesson 5, vocabulary review, who/which clause 
Week 6:Theseus and the Minotaur, Part 1 
•	Unit 3: Retelling Narrative Stories, Lesson 6, vocabulary

Homework:
Homework will be assigned each week from the textbook. Students are expected to upload their completed assignments to the classroom before the next class.
